01Overview

When a car stops working, the person who needs help is on the roadside with one hand free and patchy signal. Mechanic.lk was built around that moment: a mobile-first platform connecting drivers to mechanics, garages, parking, and emergency services across Sri Lanka.

02Roles and real time

Each participant sees a different product. Drivers search and request; mechanics and garages receive and respond; service providers manage what they offer. Those flows are modelled separately rather than bolted onto one generic account type.

Leaflet handles the map and location interaction, and Socket.IO carries live updates so a request and its response do not depend on someone refreshing a page. The team of five shipped it deployed — front end on Netlify, services on Railway — inside the Devthon window.
